I found it is interesting to hear that older cats have different mannerisms than younger cats. My sister-in-law told me that she had an "attack" cat who could detect strangers. I never knew that





I don’t know that this is weird, but my cat loves to talk in the morning, even after he’s been fed. It’s a regular meow-fest.




My older cat Cairo (just over a year) like to bury things. If there’s any food anywhere, he starts brushing his paw as tho he’s burying it. If he sees a bag or a piece of paper, he needs to bury something with it. It sure helps me to be a better housekeeper, can’t leave anything lying around!




Suki is my other cat (6 mos). They are both boys. I used to have 2 girl cats and what a difference! The girls were playful, but never knocked anything over or damaged anything. The boys? It’s a whole other story. They are destroying the house! They knock things over all the time and everything is a toy.



I had a psycotic cat…seriously. It would sneak attack you out of nowhere.




Mine liked to talk and tell you off
-his fur smells attrocious when on fire.
Uh, oh, maybe I should explain that one. On a rare afternoon off I lit a scented candle and laid on the couch to read a book. Next thing I know, there is this horrible smell and yup, you guessed it, he had walked across the coffee table and stood there staring at me like any other day except that his tale, swishing along contentedly was on lit up like a firecracker.


Oh, yeah, some cats are soooo mouthy. Got a comment for everything. Feel free to ask about cats all you want when you get to that point. I’ve had LOTS, am at a low point now with only 7…8? (3 nutty ones inside, 2 yard cats, 2 barn cats and one feral cat who came with the farm. Some traits are just so CAT but they’re as different in quirks and personality as people.



My maine coon (Baby) is a big old loveable lug lol. He does nip humans to get their attention (for petting or because one of the many food dishes has some food missing and it needs to be full at all times) but he never ever picks on other cats - in fact he puts his head down to be licked. He was a feral and got out twice for 10 days because there was a small hole in the screen (from outside feral kittens) and he made it bigger. But if I open the door he never tries to get out.



One of 6 is very fat. If I try to keep her away from food she eats more. She has never used her claws ever for any reason. She likes her tummy rubbed and to be carried and has to drink out of one particular sink and if she doesn’t know where I am she cries and cries.



I nursed one from a month old because someone threw motor oil on him and her mom. she left him on my porch for me to find and I would never have believed such a little thing could sound like such a large wild thing. He used to burrow in my long hair. He is our guard cat and greets everyone and the only one to come out when our uncle comes with his huge dog. He’s also a bit of a bully. He wants to eat first and get the water dish first.
Not sure if these are weird but they are cat-like behaviors.



My cat Spirit meows when I sneeze. She also goes “crazy” every now and then and runs as fast as she can through the house. Literally she’s a flash of gray. Sometimes she’s running so fast it’s like she’s on one of those bike tracks and her paws only touch the walls or back of couch.



Smalls lets you rub her for a few minutes then she attacks you. She’s a stray we took in, when she wouldn’t move to her new house when her owners moved out and we moved in.



Rocket will do anything for dried shrimp. One morning I woke up and he was chewing on plastic. He’d climbed into the kitchen cupboard and found his tube of freeze-dried shrimb and carried upstairs and onto our bed. The silly cat had eaten the entire tube. Only a few crumbs were left on our comforter.



My 7 year old cat likes to be held either like a baby, or held upside down by hooking his back legs with my arm.
My Bengal LOVES water. To play in. He hates anything being on counters and will intentionally push things off — things like full bottles of wine. Candles. Dishes.



He LOVES to be vacuumed and will come running when you start it up!



My cat is so mouthyyy too, she just loves nibbling on my ears especially when I'm sleeping and pushing against my shoulder with its paws back and fourth, not being nibbled by my husband but my cat "Queen Blackie".............all so watery....and it smells.....ewwwww



My cat Ginger will not be able to be herself like nrmal if she doesnt't have her morning coffee..who says only humans are addicted to coffee, my ginger too!!!



The strange thing about my cat is, shes been wanting to be a MEGA Rock Star, she just loves to pull the string on my son's guitar with her nails and plays the guitar not like a rock start but something quite close enuff....hehe



My cat helps us out with the laundry but not to clean it but to mess it up....sighhhhh...



My putty cat spot just pushes me off each time I sleep on the sofa so that she can enjoy the quality of life!!!



My cat Mary Jane is just so lazy, all she does is eat & sleep and sleep and relax & sleep all day long....what can I say mate! Come to think abt it, kinda great being a cat...



Mra cat just would't keep still even for a second, I get tired even looking at her, so I do strange things to her to keep her busy, at least shes occupied and fascinated for awhile.
